Pappas Bros. Steakhouse
You've probably eaten in at one of the Pappas Bros. establishements in Houston. But have you been to the crown jewel of the Pappas family empire, The Pappas Bros. Steak House? This time, even the Pappas have outdone themselves. This Galleria-area steak house is reminiscent of a time when everything in Texas was as big as the Texas sky. The interior is a blend of a Texas cattle ranch and 1940s-era glamor. It will remind you of the famous movie about Texas, "Giant".

And giant is right. Everything here is huge. There are many steaks to choose from. The 2 1/2" filet is marbles to perfection and butter smooth. There also are steaks for smaller eaters, and there are 18-ounce and 16-ounce prime rib cuts. The desserts are as big as you would expect them to be and sinful. And don't forget to order a side of asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes.

The upscale wine list was put together by Scotti Stark, the sommelier. Ask him to suggest soem wine for you to try. This is the type of restaurant where the after dinner drinks might be as important as the meal itself, including a $500 brandy. Also many guests take the time to enjoy a fine cigar. Sexy and romantic, Pappas Bros. Steak House offers a dinner you won't soon forget.
